Inspiration: My first attempt at a supernatural story. There are countless examples of powers being granted to someone who uses it for their own sexual exploits. It is practically its own sub-genre. But if I had to identify my inspiration for this story, it would probably be “The Suggestion Box” by Alvo Torelli.

Synopsis:
Before Peter was born, his parents had given up thinking they could conceive a child. They had already adopted a strikingly beautiful girl from an obscure place in central Europe. That’s how Peter grew up with his adopted step-sister Kaia being his family’s perfect, golden child while he was almost an afterthought.

Kaia’s homeland was a tiny, secretive kingdom, the kind you might read about in classical fairy tales. The kind where beautiful princesses get fairy godmothers to look after them as they grow. Kaia was a distant heir to the throne of this kingdom. But because she was so far down the line of succession, she never got assigned a fairy godmother and nobody even cared when her birth mother, having fallen on hard times, put her up for adoption and sent her off to America for the chance at a better life.

Years later, there was a failed coup attempt leading to a bloody familial struggle for the throne. The line of succession was decimated so much that, as a precaution, an elderly godmother was pulled out of retirement and hastily assigned to several of the lesser heirs scattered around the kingdom.

When Kaia’s godmother, somewhat past her prime, unexpectedly shows up at his home in America, Peter, now a teenager, learns about his step-sister’s secret lineage. Pleased how everyone in her adopted family already treats Kaia like royalty, the woman, eager to return to her home country, decides it’s safe to recruit Peter and entrust him with some of the tasks and responsibilities she would normally perform herself if she weren’t already stretched so thin.

To help him with this, the fairy godmother enchants Peter using a spell. She gives him strict instructions to only use this enchantment to protect Kaia and to help her get ready to be a real princess on the still extremely remote chance that she might be needed to serve her country someday as its queen. The enchantment expires in exactly one year when the woman promises she will return to check in on things.

It so happens that, in choosing which power to grant him, the godmother makes a terrible mistake, entrusting Peter with something that was never meant to be given to a mere untrained commoner – The Power of Suggestion. How much mischief can one horny, teenage boy with this power get into over the course of a single year? Will he resist the temptation to knock his entitled princess of a step-sister down a few notches? As its expiration date approaches, can Peter unravel the mysterious source of this “magic”, or will the overwhelming temptation that comes with such incredible power ultimately corrupt him?
